Emcure has made its foray in the field of bio-therapeutics through its wholly owned subsidiary Gennova Biopharmaceuticals Limited (GBL). Primary focus of research and development at GBL is in the areas of thrombolytics, nephrology and oncology and three major biologics (Tissue Plasminogen Activator- TNK-tPA, Granulocyte Macrophage Stimulating Factor-GM-CSF and Human Erythropoietin – rhEPO) has been successfully developed and commercialized in 2007 by GBL in the Indian market.
